Austin, TX trio Austerity Measures plays music reminiscent of the glory days of Indie Rock. Kind of loud, kind of post-punk, kind of experimental, kind of pop. They really like playing live. So much so that their second and third gigs were in Lawrence, KS and Kansas City, MO, respectively. They’re really a lot of fun to hang around with, except sometimes Brit, who can be moody and has to take anti-psychotics. He is, of course, the one who writes all the songs. Ah, the songs. The songs are that kind of slightly twisted pop song with dark, open to expression lyrics that are great conversation starters if the listeners happen to have been smoking marijuana. Or not. Austerity Measures takes no official position on the smoking of marijuana. Just kick back and enjoy the music.
